-
Dara Brown (they/she) is an audiobook narrator, singer, and energy worker from Chicago.
Dara has held a deep love for language for many years, acting and studying Shakespeare with the best of the best at Shakespeare and Company in Massachusetts after earning a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from University of Cincinnati. They adore the classics and heightened language, and strive to bring this love for rhetoric and narrative into any work they do.
As a Black and queer narrator, she’s excited by stories that comfort, that bring people closer to themselves, and that challenge prevailing narratives about who is lovable. Dara especially enjoys working on sapphic romance, but generally won’t sniff at any romance with an intriguing story and, hopefully, a happily ever after!
Outside of the booth, Dara teaches music classes for babies and toddlers and their grownups, volunteers as a doula, and practices energy work, herbalism, and tarot. Dara lives and works in Chicago with her partner, JJ, and their beautiful angel of a cat, Waffles.
